Want What’s Good
Positive self talk can be a powerful tool in transforming ourselves into someone better. Repeating simple, positive statements to ourselves can raise our energy, put forth our best self, bring more of what we want into our lives, bring the best out in others & make us happy, content, peaceful and at ease. This means pay attention to what you’re thinking. Filter what thoughts come in, toss out the garbage & be mindful how you speak or behave in reaction or response to your thoughts. Our thoughts create feelings & action & they affect those around us. Our thoughts create our lives, that’s huge!
I want to express that my thought life is pure & joyful, finding pleasure in all aspects of life, including those times of suffering (I’ve reflected a great deal on suffering lately), always thinking the best of everyone & extending the benefit of the doubt, non judgmental with regards to others & myself, always seeing the positive side of every experience even in the mist of great challenge & happy to learn the lessons put before me each day. Not so, I battle with my thoughts every day & how easy it is to read & write what a healthy thought life is. Yet to practice it in every aspect of living is a huge undertaking! So pat yourself on the back if you are making any effort at all to improve your thought life, you are doing yourself & the world a great service!
Now putting this into practice is not so easy when we have little or no control over the thougths that do arise. What we do have control over is what we do with the thought when it comes up, how we feel because of it, how it impacts us on a deeper physical/psychological level & how we react/respond. We always have a choice with every thought, keep it or let it go. The negative thought patterns, the critical or condemning self talk, worry, fear (not healthy worry or fear that alerts us to real danger), stress (that chronic reaction to perceived stress that may or may not be based in reality), and any debilitating thoughts needs to be acknowledged, loved & transformed into healthy, self affirming & constructive thoughts. For some professional help is required to better understand thoughts & the impact these thoughts are having in their life. The perspective of a trained & qualified professional can be priceless when it leads to a happier, healthier state of mind.
What we do to a large degree is based on what we think. What we get from life to a large degree is based on what we think about life. Put forth your best thoughts & enjoy what follows!

For a long time I was never able to appreciate who I was on the outside. I realized that all of my negativity towards myself really was bringing me down mind, body, and soul. Once I realized what I was doing to myself and how untrue it was I was able to be happy and comfortable with myself. I started doing simple things like complimenting myself every morning and even writing complements on my mirrors. I started feeling more confident and now I hardly ever have negative thoughts about myself and the things I do. This simple change made my life twenty times healthier and better then it was during my days of negativity.
