Fruit of the Spirit

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. Meekness, temperance, against such things there is no law (Galatians 5: 22-23 KJV). Amplified version, “But the fruit of the Holy spirit (the work which His presence within accomplishes) is love, joy, peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control. Against such things there is no law (that can bring a charge)” Galatians 5: 22-23.

Above are directly from the Bible, here simply stated, “The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness & self control.” (Gal 5:22-23)  Whatever you believe I hope we can all agree that those 9 practices and states of being are what we need to bring about any change in this world or in our lives.  We need to be this way with ourselves and with others.  All life deserves love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness & self control.  What a difference we can make when we cultivate these practices into our lives!

The very first time I remember learning the fruits of the spirit was at church camp in 9th grade. it was actually a song rather then a list. If you stop and think about them, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control, they are all things that will make ourselves the best people we can be. Gal 5:22-23 is probablly one of my favorite bible versus.
