The Greatest Loss

No matter how dark the moment, love and hope are always possible.

George Chakiris

I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience

I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it’s not easy
But faithfully, I will wait

–John Waller

In the last 3 years I have experienced great losses.  These losses have taught me how temporary experiences, relationships, time with loved ones, emotions, material possessions and life can be.  I may one day have the courage to share publicly some of the greatest losses in hopes of helping others but for now I will be very general.  For those who are missing loved ones and who have also experienced great loss may I encourage you to march on.  Hold tight to the good memories.  Learn from your experiences and seek to find the positive in your darkest moments.  Even in letting go there is good.  May light and love fill you and work in you and through you this holiday season.  May your hurts be healed with time and may fond memories live on in you heart and minds.  May your losses turn to gains.  May we all find oneness in our difficult moments, for we all live with loss and we all have pain to overcome.  Let us come together and encourage one another back to love.

Blessings to All!

Love that song, it’s a good one. Also enjoyed your thoughts on loss. You should read the book “Drops Like Stars” by Rob Bell, I think you would appreciate it.

I love your outlook on loss. I have lost a few loved ones and while at the time all I felt was pain. Now I am able to appreciate and embrace so much more in life. I’ve learned to not sweat the small stuff but appreciate every challenge.

Loss is never forgotten, loved ones always find a way back into your life through memories and places, sometimes even in characteristics other people have but time is never in your favor you have to find peace and happiness for them and yourself in order to move on in life. God has shown me how to handle hard times and to appreciate my family and the blessing I receive are to bless someone else.

I have experienced my own share of losses these past few years. Two of these losses were too recent for comfort. Reading these words were very reassuring and it is something I will keep in mind when I start to struggle. Thank you!

I have also suffered a great loss and it was very unexpected which cut me very deep! I am still hurting but to keep my self from crying through out my day I try to focus on the the positive moments and memories. Remaining positive is definitely the best way to get through the hardest times of life

Recently, I also experience losing love one. I realized that strong relationship can build in short time. In other word, I might cry much more for a person that I only know for 7 months than a person that I know for years. I will take “May your hurts be healed with time and may fond memories live on in your heart and minds” as an encouragement to get through the sadness time.

This was tough to read at this time but, it did give me some comfort. Losing my father recently is also making me relive losing my 19-year-old brother four years ago. Especially since my father wanted to share the same plot as him. There is no preparation for death, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. It’s soothing to remember all the littlest memories I have of them both.

When I was younger, I lost an Uncle who was as close to me as my father and I didn’t know how to cope with the loss. In many ways, I don’t know how to cope with loss in the present tense and this has an impact on my relationships and my current state. I’m so scared of missing out on little moments with people and things changing that I cling to every moment that I have with those that I love. This, in too much concentration, has a negative impact on any relationship and it’s something that I’ve had to learn how to deal with and work around in my current relationships and friendships.

There is great information in this blog. I have been reading a book about attitude, and there’s a chapter where it take about hope. There is hope in EVERY situation in life. it is known that people who were in the their darkest hours, did not lose hope and their situation began to turned for the better! The main thing I would love for people to understand, is to never lose hope. No matter what you are going through, have a belief that there is a possibility for change in a positive way, because there is.
